Subject: more information for National Congress!

Hartford is very walkable.  There are also free bus shuttles ( Star Shuttle) from all of the hotels to the XL Center and other points in downtown.  ( May find walking is faster, but the bus is there for those who may need or want it.)

National Travel Systems is also adding some hotel rooms.  Tell your folks to contact them for availability if they were not able to get a room.  But the rooms will go fast. There are also rooms in Farmington, CT and that is not far but will need a car.

USAG is now only accepting congress registrations onsite, but there will be a $ 50 discount coupon posted on our website as well as in Technique that they can use for onsite registration.  They must have a copy of the coupon with them.  The coupon will be on the website by next Monday.   This promises to be the biggest and best congress and VISA championships to date.  There are a lot of new things happening in Hartford. Rest up because the days will begin early and can end late!

And last but not least the registration for the Business Conference has been extended to July 30.  This is an educational event that truly should not be missed.  A special Trade Show Hall opening and reception will begin at 5:00 pm for all attendees of the business conference.  They will be the first to see the hall, receive complementary food and drinks,  prize drawings and goodie bags from the United States Gymnastics Suppliers Association.  This will allow business conference attendees a special time when they can talk to the companies and representatives that do the business of gymnastics. SIGN UP TODAY!  There will be NO onsite registration for the Business Conference.

Visit the Go Hartford site for all of the event details:  http://www.usa-gymnastics.org/pages/events/2010/vc/gohartford/

Online Registration is here for sectionals and states!

The website is listed below for online registration.
http://massusag.registersports.com
You will need to create an account for your gym.  Click open an account.  The participant information is the club contact (person) information.  Use the club address, phone, and e-mail that you want for any communication about the event.  Obviously, you do not need to put your birthdate, but the field cannot remain blank, so fill in whatever you want there.  When you click on the online registration form to register for a competition, you will then log into the account you created.  On that registration form, it will ask you to list your club information (name and number) as well as coaches attending (name, number, expiration) and athlete information (name, usa#, dob, level).  No fields are allowed to remain blank, so if you have five athletes entering the competition, please put n/a in the remaining spaces for athlete information.  It will then ask you to select the number of athletes coming to the competition so that it will charge you correctly.  Please note that the fees listed already have the fee charged by the company added in so that you will not be paying more per entry than is allowed by the region.  There is a $3.00 fee per form that you submit which is charged by the credit card company for processing.  I have been unable to get that fee waived at this point.

You then click on submit and check out.  At that point you review the information that you have entered and enter your credit card for payment processing.  Once your order is complete, you will see a pdf invoice that you can print for your records.

I hope that you will find this process easy (once worked with) and eliminating the paper aspect of our entries will help you (and my dining room table) this season.  Don't hesitate to contact me if you are having problems with this process as it is new for all of us, but I am hopeful that it will be a positive move for us as a state.

Attention:  Meet Directors hosting Level 2-4 Competitions

For all Level 2-4 competitions for the 2009-2010, to remain consistent with the philosophies of USA Gymnastics, the State Administrative  Committee strongly recommends that the following be done at all  competitions:
- Achievement awards should be presented to the individual athlete at
the awards ceremony
- If you choose to do AA awards in addition to achievement ribbons,
they should be presented to every participating gymnast.
