Team Coaches
Sterling Academy of Gymnastics is looking for both girls and boys team coaches. Girls team coach to work with optional team members and boys team coach to work with all levels. Head Coach of Team, Levels 4 – 10

We are a well established gymnastics school located in East Longmeadow, MA. Our mission is to build healthy minds and bodies in our community.

We are looking for a team player who can manage and run our competitive girls gymnastics team. Our Current team is successful, strong and growing rapidly. We consistently send gymnasts to states, regionals and nationals. We offer health insurance, paid vacations.

  • Recognize new opportunities within programs and make recommendations
  • Work with the owner and staff in creating a positive environment for team as well as an ever growing and successful program
  • Formulate lesson plans and skill development programs
  • Responsible for the training and development of levels 4 – 10
  • Strong spotting ability particular for levels 9 & 10
  • Knowledge and understanding of the USAG JO Program
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years experience as an assistant or head coach of Team preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to work with a team of coaches
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic

Activity Head- Gymnastics
The Activity Head at Wicosuta directly supervises Camp Counselors teaching and coaching.

Activity Heads are responsible for all aspects of your program area from supervising staff and designing curriculum to area maintenance and staff scheduling. AHs have a high level of expertise in their area including experience supervising, teaching, and coaching children ages 7-15 & staff. AHs are self-starters, flexible, organized and creative. They are leaders of their areas and of camp.

Gymnastics AH

  • Create lesson plans for each age group and skill level
  • Teach private gymnastics lessons (additional compensation per lesson provided)
  • Train counselor staff both at orientation and ongoing training  throughout summer
  • Supervise instruction during activity periods
  • Direct the setup and maintenance of gym facility
  • Organize end of session gym show and any other gym meets during summer
  • Assist and participate in Evening Activities and Special Events when needed
  • Evening On Duty rotation
  • Review performance of activity staff for directors every two weeks.
  • Active member of the key staff team at Wico
